2018 NASBA National Championship Snow Bike Series

Boise, Idaho – In 2017, the NASBA Championship Snow Bike Series became the first races in the almost 100 year history of the NASBA to run without any kind of wheels. The NASBA recently raised awareness and prestige for the sport by announcing the snow bike racing will become a full-fledged National Championship Series in 2018. Snow-biking is a relatively new form of winter recreation, where a ski and a lightweight, high-performance track are fitted to modern, off-road motorcycles.

HOW TO BECOME A RACER

  • Desire: If your love of riding and racing your motorcycle gets interrupted by winter and you find yourself checking the calendar for spring, you no longer have to put your bike up on its stand for the season. Now there is a winter fix – snow bikes.
  • Equipment: Most importantly, you need to convert your off-road motorcycle into a winter snow bike. If you are unfamiliar with the available equipment you can start with our snow bike kit partners who all build specialized kits for many bike manufacturers. Additionally, we have a great connection for anyone who is shopping for a snow bike. (Link to Timbersled, Camso, Moto Trax, CMX, and MX Snow Tech) A great place to check used equipment is at Snomoto.com.
  • NASBA License: All of the NASBA Championship Series Races require that riders have a current NASBA membership. You can purchase a one-day license to race or either an annual license that enables you to race at NASBAteur NASBA sanctioned event, across the country. You can purchase the $49 annual license Here or you can opt to purchase either the $20 daily or the annual license at the events. Bring your card or your receipt with you to verify the membership number and expiration date before you can race.
  • Request Race Number: Before you race your snow bike, we ask that you take the time to request a race number by filling out and submitting the form on our website. You can check the number list and chose from the available numbers. If you opt to not change your number plate, you will have to wear a number bib over your gear, which for some is not a favorite thing to do.
  • Race under the Rules: We have NASBA racing rules in place for all riders along with supplemental rules for snow bike racing. Read More.
  • Attend: Go to the closest NASBA Championship Snow Bike Race near you or travel your butt off to find one. Either way, our racing format is designed so that at the end of the heats, all riders will be racing in groups that are relatively riding at the same skill and speed. We have a riders meeting after practice times and everyone is required to attend. Our team is happy to answer any and all of your questions and welcoming you to this brand new winter sport.
  • Be Prepared: For exhilarating fun! We’re all racers.
